Planning Register

AboutPlanning Register

One question, answered from the register

What is being planned near this address, and when does the window to have your say close? Planning Register puts every planning application, appeal and deadline around a point on one map, with the source and fetch time beside each figure.

Who it is for

Buyers and their solicitors checking a house before they commit; neighbours who have just seen a site notice; residents’ associations following a large scheme; small builders and architects looking for precedents on a street. None of them should need to know seven council portals to find out what is happening on the next road.

What it does

  • Search an address and see everything within 5 km, sorted by what closes soonest.
  • Open any application for its full history — decision, further information, appeal, commencement — and a short guide to making an observation while the window is open.
  • Watch an address and get a plain note when something new is lodged, decided or appealed nearby.
  • Order a full planning report for a site: applications, appeals, zoning, flood and heritage constraints, land tax status and sale history in one document.

Where the data comes from

The store is built from the public planning registers of the local authorities in the Greater Dublin Area (Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and Fingal in full; Dublin City, South Dublin, Kildare, Meath and Wicklow applications), the national planning data feed, An Coimisiún Pleanála’s appeals register, the Building Control Management System commencement notices, the Residential Zoned Land Tax maps, the Property Price Register, council development plans and zoning maps, and OpenStreetMap for streets and localities. Every figure carries the feed it came from and the time it was fetched; the Sources page shows how fresh each feed is right now, and what each licence lets us republish.

Planning Register is an independent service. It is not a local authority register and does not replace a statutory planning search.
