What you are relying on when you use this site

Planning Register gathers public planning records into one place and points you back to the record. It is a research tool, not a legal document. These terms say what that means in practice.

The information is informational

Everything on the site, including the full planning report, is compiled from published sources by software, on a schedule. Records can be late, incomplete or amended at source after we fetched them, and a site can be affected by matters no register records. Use the site to find out what to check, then check it: with the planning authority, An Coimisiún Pleanála, and where money is at stake, your solicitor or engineer. Deadlines shown are computed from published receipt and decision dates; the authority’s own date governs. Nothing here is legal, planning or financial advice.

Not a statutory search

The report does not replace a planning search from the local authority, a requisition on title, or an engineer’s or architect’s opinion, and should not be presented as any of those. Each page and report says which feeds it drew on and when.

Licences of the underlying data

• Local authority planning registers and the national planning data feed — published as open data by the councils and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage; reused under the CC BY 4.0 / Open Data (PSI) licence with attribution to the publishing authority on each record.
• An Coimisiún Pleanála appeal decisions — public records of the Commission, shown with a link to the case file.
• Property Price Register — © Property Services Regulatory Authority (PSRA). Sale prices are reproduced under the PSRA’s terms; the PSRA does not warrant the accuracy of the data and neither do we.
• OpenStreetMap — streets, localities and base map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Map tiles by OpenFreeMap and OpenMapTiles.
• Zoning, RZLT, flood and heritage constraints — from the councils, the Office of Public Works and the National Monuments Service. Some of these feeds forbid republication; for those we show only the derived fact (“within 100 m of a flood extent”), as set out on Sources.
• Photographs — Wikimedia Commons, credited in the footer and in img/CREDITS.md.

Our own arrangement of the data — the summaries, the canonical states, the deadlines and the report — is ours. You may quote it with a link; you may not scrape the site to build a competing service or resell the report.

The full report and refunds

The full report is a one-off purchase, priced on the order page and paid through Stripe. Because it is generated for you the moment payment clears, the fourteen-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 does not apply once the report has been delivered — but if the report is wrong for the site you asked about, or fails to open, email hello@planningregister.ie within thirty days and we will fix it or refund it in full. No arguments.

The usual

We may change or withdraw parts of the site at any time. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the site; nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Irish law. These terms are governed by the law of Ireland and the Irish courts.
