What’s proposed

The extraction by quarrying of 300,000 tonne per annum of sandstone rock from an existing quarry (over a 20 year period) on a 26.8 hectare site. This includes the extension of internal access roads, construction of berms for landscaping and the installation of an attenuation pond and full retention interceptor. Retain tarmacadam plant and demolish retaining walls, wing walls and concrete footing (422.4 m3) and ancillary works. The Environmental Impact Assessment Report (EIAR) and Natura Impact Statement (NIS) will be submitted to the Planning Authority with the application. The EIAR and NIS will be available for inspection of purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at the offices of the planning authority
