What’s proposed

a minor extension to the existing FAB34 manufacturing building (as permitted under Kildare County Council Reg. Ref. 19/91 and AN Coimisiún Pleanála Ref. PL09.30467), the addition of a vehicular bridge, modifications to existing internal road layout all to the south west of the Intel site and 2no. entrance signs at the existing south west entrances to the Intel Leixlip campus from the R148. The proposed minor modifications and reconfigurations comprise: (1) Extension and alterations to the permitted FAB34 Manufacturing Building. This will result in a single storey elevated extension to the existing building, approximately 141 square metres and approximately 25.7 metres in height, to the loading dock area to the south west of the existing FAB34 Manufacturing building on the west side of the Intel site. (2) The addition of a new vehicular bridge, approximately 236 square metres, connecting the new loading dock to the grade-level road to the south of the FAB34 manufacturing building. (3) Addition of ancillary truck turning area, approximately 1,830 square metres, at the connection point of the new proposed vehicular bridge. (4) Modifications to permitted landscaping layout, site lighting and drainage system. (5) The addition of 2no. monument type entrance signs, approximately 1.6 metres high and 2.5 metres wide at the 2no. south west entrances to the Intel site off the R148. This application consists of a variation to a previously permitted development for an activity for which a licence under Part IV of the Environmental Protection Agency Act 1992 (as amended by the Protection of the Environment Act, 2003) is required. This is a site to which the Chemicals Act (Control of Major Accident Hazards Involving Dangerous Substances) Regulations 2015 (S.I. 209 of 2015) applies
