This slab is inserted in a column on the left of the choir: THIS MONUMENT WAS ERECTED BY/ WILLIAM YORKE, TO YE MEMORY OF HIS/ DECEASED FATHER, ALDERMAN/ WILLIAM YORKE, WHO LIES HERE IN/ TERD: WAS THRICE MAOIR: GAVE ABOVE/ FOUR HUNDRED POUNDS FOR BUILDING YE/ EXCHANGE FREELY BESTOWED IT ON THE/ CORPORATION: CONTRIBUTED TO YE BELLS AND/ CHYMES WHICH WERE CAST AND/ SET UP IN HIS MAOIRALTYES: WAS/ CHARITABLE TO THE POORE: CONSTANT/ TO HIS FRIENS: DYED IN THE TRVE CHRI/ STIAN FAITH THE LAST YEAR OF HIS/ MAOIRALTY APRIL 1 1679 AETATIS/ SUAE 42 LEAVING WIELLIAM ROGER/ & JANE HIS ISSUE BY ANNA THE DAVG/ HTER OF HENRY HART ESQ (FitzGerald 1910, 133; Talbot 1976, 108)'.
